GHS Foundation announces MASK-arade Gala

The Granville Health System (GHS) Foundation will host the MASK-arade Gala on Saturday, December 5.

The event will be a virtual gala that includes a virtual auction, a raffle, and a 5-course dinner from Strong Arm Baking Company, delivered to your door. Proceeds will benefit Granville Health System.

Martha Wrenn, Chairman of the Foundation, said, “The COVID-19 pandemic has brought many challenges for our community, but we will always find a way to support the important work being done at Granville Health System. The MASK-arade Gala is an opportunity to partake in the fun and excitement that is typically found at the Art Gala, while we safely support the GHS Foundation.”

Guests can order their meals and have them delivered to their door or they may also opt to pick them up at The Hub on Main. Meals are being prepared and delivered by Strong Arm Baking Company. Guest will have opportunities to add a variety of items to their order to enhance their at-home MASK-arade experience. For example, they can add a late-night snack platter, caramel buns for the next morning, or fresh flowers for a small fee. The ticket price stays consistent with the past 11 years at $125/person and includes a raffle ticket. The raffle winners will be announced the day of the event.

Guests can opt to keep their Gala at their home with their family or host a small gathering of friends/office staff. This size of the gathering is left up to individuals and their own comfort level.

The MASK-arade Gala will feature a virtual auction with a limited number of luxury items. The items will appear in an online auction that will run for several days prior to the event with the auction winners being determined on the evening of the MASK-arade Gala.

“This community hospital has done a great deal to support the health of its citizens, especially this year while fighting a global pandemic,” said Wrenn. “The Foundation is pleased to support the hospital as they expand and grow to meet the demands of the area. In the past the Granville Health System Foundation has raised $500,000 to support the construction of a new Emergency Department and $300,000 for the purchase of a new CT scanner at Granville Medical Center.”

The current campaign supports the remodeling of South Granville Medical Center which houses both Granville Primary Care, Butner-Creedmoor and Granville ExpressCare.

Planners of the spectacular event include Chairwoman Martha Wrenn, Marshall Tanner, Carolyn Blackwell, Gary Bowman, Lizzie Stovall, Ginnie Currin, Lauren Currin, Cathy Crews, and Rob Adkins.
