Granville Health System Partners with Area High Schools to Vaccinate Against COVID-19

April 01, 2021

Granville Health System (GHS), in partnership with public and charter schools in Granville County, offered more than 800 Pfizer COVID-19 vaccines on Wednesday, March 31, 2021. The vaccines were administered by appointment as car visits from 4:00 pm until 9:00 pm at Granville Primary Care & OB/GYN in Oxford. The clinic is located at 110 Professional Park Drive, on the campus of Granville Medical Center.

“We are thankful to area school administrators and educators for their partnership as we made vaccines available to staff and students who are 16 years and older as well as other eligible groups,” said John F. Snow, Granville Health System CEO. “Health systems, school systems, and families uniting together in the fight against COVID-19 highlight the importance of the vaccine in beating this virus. Our young adults have forfeited so many important life events and milestones during this pandemic. Partnerships like this event will surely hasten the return to normalcy for our future leaders.”

Granville Health System will continue to offer first- and second-dose vaccines at scheduled times during the month of April. A first-dose Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine clinic will be held on Friday, April 9. Appointment slots will be posted at ghsHospital.org/COVID19Vaccine on Tuesday, April 6, beginning at 3:00 pm.

“Our mission at GHS is to promote well-being; accelerate healing; and inspire hope,” continued Snow. “Our vaccine clinics are a great illustration of this commitment to our mission. We are thankful for our dedicated staff, community, and school system volunteers who joined together to vaccinate our families and young adults.”
