Granville Primary Care, Oxford Welcomes Leslie Thomas, MD

Granville Health System (GHS) welcomes Dr. Leslie Thomas to Granville Primary Care, Oxford.

Dr. Thomas is accepting new patients and scheduling appointments.

Dr. Thomas is a graduate of Wake Forest University School of Medicine. Her medical residency in Internal Medicine-Pediatrics was spent at the University of North Carolina School of Medicine. She was awarded the UNC Internal Medicine-Pediatrics Department Resident of the Year in 2017. She is a member of the American Academy of Pediatrics as well as the American College of Physicians.

“We are pleased to welcome Dr. Thomas to our health system,” said John F. Snow, CEO of Granville Health System. “We are excited another excellent physician has chosen to make Granville their home as we continue to expand access to quality care throughout our service area. As a med-peds provider, Dr. Thomas certainly has a lot to offer our patients. I know she will be well received and will provide excellent primary care for Oxford and our Granville County communities.”

Med-peds is a shortened term for “Combined Internal Medicine & Pediatrics”. Internal Medicine is a three-year residency program leading to Board Certification in Internal Medicine. Pediatrics is also a three-year residency program leading to Board Certification in Pediatrics.

“I am thrilled to be part of the GHS team and to offer primary care to this area,” Thomas said. “My practice is centered around comprehensive care for all ages with a special interest in adolescent and women’s health.”

In joining Granville Primary Care, Dr. Thomas will be working with a group of established providers in delivering comprehensive care in the areas of family, pediatric and internal medicine. With locations in both Oxford and Butner-Creedmoor, Granville Primary Care provides a complement of services in caring for entire families, ranging from pediatric to geriatric medicine.

In the coming months, Dr. Thomas and Granville Primary Care, Oxford will move to a new medical office building under construction on the Granville Medical Center campus. The new facility will immediately house Granville Primary Care, Oxford and be available for additional services as they are introduced to the health system.
